Cheshire Streetwise Furniture Project.

.

Cheshire Streetwise has been running a Furniture Reuse project since March 2016 with a small grant funded by Cheshire East and ANSA:

Part of our work includes taking donations of pre-loved furniture and getting them to people in our community who need them.

We get sofas for people to sit on, beds for people to sleep in , wardrobes, and sideboards, dressing tables, you get the picture..

We provide furniture for those in need in our community. We collect local donations for free and contribute to the Emergency Furniture Packages across East Cheshire.

We have a retail outlet at 72 Mill Street Macclesfield run by volunteers showcasing some of the items we get donated, and selling them to the public at reduced pricing to cover the running costs of the van, and the premises. All proceeds are ploughed back in to the organisation to fund projects and support those in need in the community.

We do occasionally carry out repairs on items that are worth saving, but these are usually assessed before being taken on, as we only have one volunteer carrying out the work and he is not full time. There is also the small matter of storage whilst work is carried out. That said, have a look at the Galleries opposite to see what we have had ,and what we can do time permitting.

We like to provide our visitors with a cup of tea or coffee when they visit us and we will do our best to help you.

Your surplus furniture does make a difference.
