Cheshire Streetwise Furniture Project opened by David Rutley

This month we opened the community furniture reuse project, Cheshire Streetwise Furniture Project. We will be collecting donations and doing deliveries in the local area of quality, preloved furniture and household items. These will be sold in the shop at very reasonable prices and used for referrals from East Cheshire for people in need of furniture packages to set up their homes.

We have had an amazing amount of support from the local community already. We have some great volunteers who have helped set up the shop, paint and decorate it and beging to sort through the donations we have been given. The Prince's Trust team chose this as their project and have painted the inside of the shop for us. Thanks, guys! We have a small team on the collections and donations, John, Steve and Dave. They are three friendly guys who will come and take away your items and bring them to the shop for delivering out to people. The shop team consists of Sue, Mo and Sue and they have organised the shop to make it look cosy and inviting to passers by! Anyone is welcome in to come and enjoy a nice cup of tea and a biscuit, all free of charge.

We hope you do come and visit us. We are on Gilchrist Avenue, Weston Estate, Macclesfield and will be open on Fridays 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. We would love to see you.
