Hosted by Cheshire Streetwise in partnership with Cheshire East Council
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE Day, Victory in Europe 8th May 1945, a wartime themed Tea Dance was held at Elim Church on Parsonage Street in Macclesfield to celebrate the ending of hostilities with Germany.
Around 50 people attended and were treated to cakes, 1940's music to dance to and the children were making PE bags and placemats using vintage style materials as well as creating paper puppets and windmills. There was much laughter and fun, and a real treat to see a vintage Press camera in action from a war veteran.
As well as being enjoyable, the event raised over £60.00 for Project Romania.
